When four high-school kids embark on a GPS scavenger hunt into the vast forest regions of southwestern Germany, their trip leads them deep into a former military restricted area. But what starts out as an adventure soon turns into a nightmare as they stumble across the remains of an abandoned U.S. military test site. The seemingly closed down facility once was part of a secret Cold War experiment involving low frequency electromagnetic waves. And although it had been shut down for decades, it is now mysteriously operational again. As the invisible threat begins to wreak havoc among them, not only their friendship is put to a test, their whole quest becomes a fight for survival.
Tackling topics like the international phenomenon Geocaching (an outdoor GPS treasure hunt) and the HAARP conspiracy theory, both featuring considerable communities and followers around the globe, LOST PLACE tells a postmodern suspense tale with a love story at its heart keeping audiences at the edge of their seat.
Starring François Goeske (‘French for Beginners’), Josefine Preuß (Germany’s 2012 hit movie ‘Turkish for Beginners’) and Anatole Taubman (‘James Bond: Quantum of Solace’, ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’, ‘The Pillars of the Earth’), LOST PLACE was shot natively in first-rate 3D, making perfect use of 3D imagery to tell its gripping story and featuring a soundtrack that was designed and natively mixed on the brand-new, highly immersive sound platform Dolby Atmos.
